Salicru has supplied dozens of DC systems to the Neom project, including DC converters and rectifiers. The project’s aim is to create the city of the future: one which is designed to be a model of sustainability, innovation and progress for the rest of the world.
The city will be built on 26,500 square kilometres of land on the north-west coast of Saudi Arabia. It is expected to be a centre of excellence in multiple fields, including renewable energy, artificial intelligence, technology and transportation, in line with the idea that the cities of the future must be places where technology and nature coexist in harmony. Neom will have a projected population of around one million inhabitants. To ensure optimum operation of the city’s systems, its designers have chosen DC current solutions, specifically Salicru’s DC POWER-S and DC POWER-L systems.
Neom is expected to have zero carbon emissions and use 100% renewable energy, with a focus on preserving the environment and conserving natural resources.
