Salicru has supplied 10 UPS systems from its SLC CUBE3+ series to the company General Electric Japan to protect wind turbines at the Tempoku Wind Farm from typhoons. The devices are specially designed to deal with ‘Typhoon Mode’.
As on previous occasions for other wind farms in Japan and South Korea, the UPSs that Salicru has supplied have special designs custom-tailored to the dimensions and anchoring systems of the wind turbines. The aim is to allow the wind turbine rotor blades to move freely in weather conditions as adverse as typhoons and also prevent the force of the wind from violently tearing them off.
Adaptability and wide range of features are precisely the main characteristics of SLC CUBE3+ UPSs. The series features on-line double conversion technology that provides a reliable, high-quality power supply while achieving significant energy and financial savings in terms of installation and operating costs. Its functionality and high performance make this series the best protection and security choice for a wide variety of environments.
