Salicru has supplied new Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Systems and battery racks to the high-speed rail corridor between Medina and Mecca, two holy cities visited by millions of Muslim pilgrims every year. This important infrastructure, which crosses coastal and desert areas of Saudi Arabia, already has various Salicru equipment in all its BOCCs (Backup Operation Control Centres).
This time, Salicru has supplied several units from the SLC CUBE3+ series, with power ratings from 7.5 to 15 kVA, as well as from the SLC ADAPT series, with power ratings from 30 to 500 kVA, which guarantee operation times of between 2 and 10 hours.
This equipment has been installed in the Haramain Railway OCC, one of the Operational Control Centres along the line's more than 400 kilometres of track.
Energy efficiency with superior electrical protection
The SLC CUBE3+ series is a UPS range featuring high-performance, on-line double-conversion (VFI) technology that provides reliable power while achieving significant energy and cost savings, both in installation and operating costs.
Highlights of the unit’s input voltage include its power factor (PF=1) and a extremely low distortion rate (THDi lower than 1.5%), which help reduce operating and installation costs, while contributing to improving the electrical network's quality.
The output power factor (PF=0.9) also stands out, providing optimum electrical protection for computer systems and low harmonic output distortion (THDv even lower than 0.5%), enabling it to protect any type of load (inductive, resistive, capacitive or mixed). The efficiency achieved (up to 95% in On-line mode or 98.4% in Smart Eco-mode) also produces significant energy consumption savings and reduces air-conditioning needs.
Redundant protection for critical applications
The SLC ADAPT series consists of various modular online double conversion solutions with DSP control and three-level IGBT inverter technology.
This series enables solutions to be configured from 25 kVA up to 1500 kVA, thanks to the wide range of modules available (25, 30 and 50 kVA), different configurable systems (6, 8, 10 or 12 modules) and the parallel/redundant option of up to three 500 kVA systems. It also offers increased protection as your needs evolve (“pay as you grow”), thereby improving total cost of ownership (TCO).
SLC ADAPT's hot-swap modules can be added or replaced during operation, thereby improving mean time to repair (MTTR) and reducing maintenance costs. Furthermore, the system’s remote management, which can be integrated into any platform, makes it easy to operate. The extensive backup options available, along with smart battery charging, ensure the continuous operation of the protected equipment.
