Salicru, through its partner MDtel, has supplied 400 units of its new range of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, SPS ADVANCE RT (1,500 VA), to the Spanish Red Cross to protect its communication racks in its centres around Spain. The Spanish Red Cross is one of the oldest humanitarian organisations in Spain. It was founded in 1864 and, since then, its mission has been to help vulnerable people through preventative actions, healthcare, rehabilitation and development, mainly carried out by volunteers.

For the organisation, having a continuous, safe and reliable power supply is especially important for its critical communication systems, particularly with respect to its attendance at emergencies, which cannot be jeopardised by communication failures due to electrical interruptions.

The new SPS ADVANCE RT is a next generation, reliable, efficient, versatile and manageable UPS system that brings together the best features in the market to protect all types of IT applications, servers (including those with active PFC power supply), VoIP telephony, network electronics and associated peripherals.

Featuring Line-interactive technology with sine-wave output voltage and an output power factor of 0.9 (the best available in the market), the new SPS ADVANCE RT has 30% more active power than its predecessor, the SPS ADVANCE, and better adapts to user needs. Moreover, its communication possibilities, via RS-232 + USB + SNMP, together with different multiplatform management and monitoring software, enable it to adapt to any computer system. Also noteworthy are its EPO (Emergency Power Off) functions for emergency shutdowns, configurable and prioritisable output sockets, Green-mode function to save energy and extended autonomy options for applications that require longer back-up times.

Its format can also be converted to tower or rack (2U) with adjustable LCD graphic display for integration into any IT environment. It is available in 750, 1,000, 1,500, 2,000 and 3,000 VA and has a warranty period of two years. It is also possible to obtain redundant power supply solutions by installing two SPS ADVANCE RT UPS systems together with Salicru’s SPS.16.STS automatic transfer system.
