Salicru strengthens Indonesia's railway infrastructure

With over 270 million inhabitants and the majority of the population concentrated on the island of Java, Indonesia's railway network is vital for inter-city mobility, metropolitan transport and freight transport.

Wednesday, 25 february 2026

Salicru has consolidated its presence in the Asian railway sector with the installation of uninterruptible power supply solutions in various operational areas for PT Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI), the country's national railway operator, which manages one of the most extensive and strategic networks in Southeast Asia. The project was undertaken in collaboration with Salicru's official partner in Indonesia, PT BINA SERVICES, a company with more than two decades of experience in the sector and a solid track record in providing integrated solutions for critical infrastructures. The partnership between the two companies allowed us to coordinate the on-site work and tailor the solutions to the specific operational requirements of the Indonesian railway network, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of technical excellence and reliability.

The projects encompassed both new investments and the replacement of old PILLER UPS systems in the main railway hubs on the islands of Java and Sumatra. In Java—the nerve centre of the Indonesian railway system—the DAOP 1 (Jakarta and its metropolitan area), DAOP 2 (Bandung and West Java), DAOP 3 (Cirebon and the northern corridor) and DAOP 5 (Central Java) operational divisions handle a high volume of passenger traffic and regional services. SLC CUBE-4 and TWIN RT2 solutions were implemented in these areas to ensure electrical continuity for signalling, telecommunications and railway control systems.

On the island of Sumatra, a key link for freight transport and regional connections, the DIVRE 3 and DIVRE 4 divisions received a combination of new installations and technological upgrades using the SLC CUBE 3+, SLC CUBE-4 and TWIN RT2 systems to enhance the reliability of critical infrastructure in a highly demanding operational environment.

Additionally, the light rail transit (LRT) systems, which form part of the modernisation and sustainable mobility plans for metropolitan areas such as Jakarta and Palembang, were equipped with SLC CUBE 3+ systems to ensure energy stability in high-density user environments.

In parallel, both the Indonesian Department of Air Transportation and various data centres responsible for managing critical infrastructure use our SLC ADAPT2 solutions, designed for scalable applications and maximum availability.
