Salicru has supplied a number of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems to Aire Networks data centres in the cities of Malaga, Madrid and Talavera de la Reina (Toledo). They are the latest systems to be acquired by the Spanish wholesale telecommunications operator group, which boasts the most extensive presence and reach in both rural and urban environments.
Specifically, Salicru has supplied a total of six SLC ADAPT 200 and 300 kVA devices, whose main function will be to guarantee stability and protect the power supply to the three data centres via the implementation of a parallel redundant system.
For many years, Aire Networks has been one of Salicru’s largest clients: we have supplied our modular UPS systems to several of the group’s 20 Spanish data centres. Based in Elche, Aire Networks offers a variety of solutions in the areas of connectivity, voice, audiovisual, cloud and data centres, with a network in excess of 27,000 km that covers 90% of Spain via fibre optic and radio-link.
Flexibility, availability and reliability in superior electrical protection
Salicru’s SLC ADAPT series consists of modular Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) solutions with on-line double conversion, DSP control and three-level IGBT inverter technology.
Its flexibility enables solutions to be configured from 25 kVA up to 1500 kVA, thanks to the wide range of modules available (25, 30 and 50 kVA), different configurable systems (6, 8, 10 or 12 modules) and the parallel/redundant option of up to three 500 kVA systems. It also offers increased protection as your needs evolve (“pay as you grow”), thereby improving total cost of ownership (TCO).
Another standout feature of these devices is their availability. The hot-swap modules can be added or replaced during operation, thereby improving mean time to repair (MTTR) and reducing maintenance costs. In addition, the system’s remote management, which can be integrated into any platform, makes it easier to operate; while the extensive back-up options available, along with the smart battery charging, ensure the continuous operation of protected critical loads.
Lastly, the series’ outstanding reliability means that the DSP control, which is based on three-level PWM technology, improves response effectiveness and, along with shared load redundancy, significantly extends the mean time between failures (MTBF).
The SLC ADAPT series is the ideal redundant protection option for critical applications such as IT infrastructure and modular and virtualised data centres (whatever their capacity), as it offers high-level electrical protection that ensures reliable, continuous and high-quality operation.
