Salicru celebrates six decades of innovation and expansion

On its 60th anniversary, Salicru is reaffirming its leadership in power electronics solutions with a growth plan focused on strong relationships with customers and distributors, internationalisation, innovation, and the ability to offer customised projects for critical sectors.

This year, 2025, marks sixty years since its founding in 1965 in Sant Celoni (Barcelona), where Jacint Salicrú began producing voltage regulators. Since then, the company has become a benchmark in Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and power electronics solutions, with a footprint in more than 130 countries and installations in critical infrastructures like hospitals, airports, data centres, railways and energy projects.

“Over the past 60 years, we’ve managed to grow without compromising our innovative spirit and dedication to our customers”, says CEO Eduard Salicrú. “The company looks to the future with the same energy and determination that has defined us since the beginning”.

Throughout its history, Salicru has combined industrial tradition with a forward-looking vision. In recent years, it has bolstered its international expansion with new subsidiaries in strategic regions such as Australia, the Middle East and Latin America, and consolidated its production capacity with the expansion of its headquarters in Santa Maria de Palautordera (Barcelona), which now covers more than 20,000 m².

Its commitment to innovation is another of its cornerstones. Each year, the company allocates around 5% of its turnover to R&D&I—an investment well above the national and European average—enabling it to offer solutions that meet the challenges of electrification and the energy transition. Its rectifiers and converters have been used in several projects being implemented by major railway and energy operators, which are expanding markets for the power electronics industry.
