The Catalan Traffic Service commissions Salicru with the protection of its control and signalling systems

Friday, 11 march 2011

For citizens circulating each day on the roads, it is very useful to permanently have reliable, updated information on the state of the traffic so that they can be aware of possible incidents and plan the best, safest route for getting to their destinations. The Catalan Traffic Service (SCT), dependent on the Government of Catalonia, has commissioned Salicru with the protection of the control and signalling systems of the Catalan road network.

In the second half of 2010, Salicru supplied the organisation with a batch of over fifty On-line UPS of different ranges, including 29 of 2,000 VA and 23 of 3,000 VA, all in rack format with 30 minutes' autonomy fully charged.

These units are mainly intended to guarantee the stability and continuity of the power supply in possible disturbances in the electrical grid, and to guarantee the real time broadcasting of the video-control cameras showing the state of the traffic (for consultation at http://www20.gencat.cat/portal/site/transit), the correct operation of the reversible lane signalling system and the communications between the remote stations and the central control unit in Barcelona.
