After winning a tender put out by the European Space Agency (ESA), Salicru has supplied 3 SLC-100-CUBE3+ UPSs (Uninterruptible Power Supplies) to the agency’s centre in Villanueva de la Cañada, Madrid. The units are high-performance triple-parallel 100 kVA devices intended for the electrical protection of its data centre.
Salicru will also be responsible for the maintenance of the equipment to ensure optimum operation.
The mission of the European Space Agency is to develop and implement Europe’s space programme. It is an international organisation with 22 member states. Through coordination of the financial and intellectual resources of its members, it is able to implement programmes and activities that are beyond the reach of individual European countries. The headquarters of the European Space Agency are in Paris and it also has centres in other European countries, each with its respective competencies. Its facility in Spain is the European Space Astronomy Centre (ESAC), located in Villanueva de la Cañada.
