Lighting Flow Dimmer Stabilisers for Public Lighting Enable Reduction of More than 130,000 Tons of CO2

Monday, 13 september 2010

In the last fifteen years, Salicru has installed more than 15,000 ILUEST lighting flow dimmer stabilisers for public lighting throughout Spain with a combined energy savings potential of over 558,000 MWh a year which represents a reduction in CO2 emissions of more than 130,000 tons and savings of more than 50 million euros.

ILUEST lighting flow dimmer stabiliser comprise a series of advantages which, over time, have become reference features in most public lighting projects in countries like China, France, Poland, Tunisia and Morocco.

Besides their safety and greater reliability in stabilizing tension and reducing light flow, they help extend the useful life of the lighting equipment on public roads and allow for smart management of public lighting with savings of up to 40% on the light bill. Moreover, they improve the quality of life of the residents with uniform, comfortable and less contaminating lighting.

Latest Agreements: Marina d’Or Renovables and Gran Canaria Motorway

Out of the latest agreements to install ILUEST equipment, the ones reached with Marina d’Or Energías Renovables S.A. (Spain) and the Council of Gran Canaria (Spain) stand out due to their repercussions. The commercial agreement signed by the Valencia-based company Marina d’Or Renovables provides for the distribution of flow stabilizer dimmers for its road lighting projects and the necessary energy efficiency and savings technical assistance.

On the other hand, the Council of Gran Canaria has initiated a public lighting energy efficiency plan and has entrusted Salicru with the efficient management of its motorway network lighting. In the first phase, 24 ILUEST devices have been installed on the island’s main motorway - the GC1 - and a section of the GC4, which are fully operative.

All of the equipment installed, with an installed power capacity over 1 MVA, features the SICRES remote management system which is an interface with a GPRS modem that makes it possible to monitor and program the primary installation parameters remotely and in real time.  This allows for an exhaustive control over their operation from any point with an Internet connection. Possible incidences are monitored and communicated automatically through emails and SMS sent from the internal ILUEST equipment system to the control center.
