Salicru opens to the solar power market

Tuesday, 9 november 2010

The growing need to find energies from renewable sources such as solar power has developed a new market in which companies promoting and installing solar power have come together to plan photovoltaic installations on lands and on the rooftops of industrial warehouses. With more than 3,350 MW connected to the network, Spain is the world leader in per capita solar power coverage. Now highly widespread and socialised (there are over 50,000 installations) the technology is no longer on the fringe and is becoming commonplace in numerous public and private infrastructures.

These figures show that the market is one of great growth potential, which is why Salicru has invested in the EQUINOX photovoltaic inverters as one of the three large lines of its Greenergy range, along with the MTB Combined Heat & Power cogeneration (CHP) and the ILUEST lighting flow dimmer-stabilisers. Salicru, a manufacturer well established in the domestic market, has directed its efforts towards the whole value chain of the photovoltaic sector for the commercialisation of the EQUINOX inverters. This is why its pre-sale strategies have been applied to the prescribing bodies, engineering companies and EPC, and to the channels made up of installers and distributors, to reach the end user with post-sale actions through its national network.

The Salicru EQUINOX range enables the direct current electrical power produced in the solar panels to be turned into alternating current and be injected into the electrical power supply network.

The success of the introduction of products such as the Salicru EQUINOX inverters and their consolidation in the country will be significantly marked by national and European regulations concerning photovoltaics, constituted principally by the Renewable Energy Plan 2011-2020, the Law of Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency, and the new regulation that must allow Spain to cover 20% of its energy consumption with renewable energy sources, as established by Directive 2009/28/CE.
