Salicru’s 74 SLC TWIN RT units guarantee the energy stability of Andalusia’s motorway signalling system

Monday, 24 march 2014

Airports, railways, ports and roads are essential infrastructures for carrying out the  activities of cities, companies and people. Our professional wellbeing and personal  safety largely depend on their proper functioning. What would happen, for example, if  air traffic control radar, traffic lights or motorway signalling systems lost their  power supply?

Salicru offers a wide range of advanced technology solutions for these types of  highly-critical infrastructures. One of the company’s latest projects for this type of  environment was the supply of 74 SLC TWIN RT series uninterruptible power supply (UPS)  units, with 1000 VA power, to protect the signalling panels of various sections of  Andalusia’s motorway network.

The SLC TWIN RT is an On-line double conversion (the most reliable) UPS system with a  wide range of powers from 700 VA to 10 kVA and an output power factor of 0.9.  Convertible to tower or rack format and with parallel/redundant configuration options,  it can be adapted to the qualitative and quantitative expansion needs of each facility.

Its main features also include extensive communication options via monitoring/automatic  file closure interface and software, cabinet-integrated standard backup batteries and  backup expansion options for processes that require greater available backup. Because of their advanced technology, these units provide maximum reliability in terms  of electrical protection, as they not only provide enough energy to prevent power cuts,  but also improve the quality of mains voltage by extending the useful life of connected  electrical, electronic and computer equipment.
