Salicru extends its stabiliser range to 5 MVA

The EMi3 range of servomotor voltage stabilisers now features new configurations with power ratings up to 5 MVA, making them suitable for large infrastructure projects, power companies and industrial environments with high energy demands.

The EMi3 series, ranging from 5 kVA to 5 MVA, provides permanent supply voltage stabilisation, safeguarding critical loads from fluctuations, surges, and drops in the mains supply. In a context where fluctuations in connected loads, disturbances from industrial equipment, distribution line issues and even lightning strikes can disrupt the delivery of stable voltage, it is crucial to have a regulatory system in place to ensure the continuity and efficiency of operations.

The EMi3 works by electronically regulating a variable autotransformer controlled by a servomotor, which acts on a booster transformer connected in series, in phase or in opposition phase, to maintain the rated output voltage. This system precisely and continuously corrects mains fluctuations, supplying a stable voltage to the connected loads.

The EMi3 also serves as an energy-saving tool during periods of low electrical consumption—often occurring at specific times of day or in certain network setups—when voltage tends to increase, leading to unnecessary overconsumption by connected devices. Stabilisation prevents this from happening, avoiding energy penalties and extending the lifespan of the installed equipment. The same is true for undervoltage situations, as the device balances the voltage, ensuring that connected loads maintain their operational voltage.

This increase in power capacity meets the needs of high-power, highly reactive installations such as electrical substations, transformer stations and distribution networks with long lines and frequent voltage drops, where faultless operation is critical to network stability. The series is also ideal for railway and transport infrastructures, which require a stable power supply for signalling systems, communications and control centres. Additionally, the mechanical and electrical robustness of the EMi3 models, along with their ability to operate in demanding environments, make them indispensable in large industrial plants, automated production lines, heavy machinery, and continuous processes.
