- Ensuring electrical continuity in critical air navigation systems such as radars, transmitters and control centres, where any interruption could compromise the airport’s operational safety.
- Providing maximum reliability to the power supply in one of Europe’s most important transport hubs, with constant national and international flight traffic.
- Having an advanced and scalable technological solution capable of adapting to future infrastructure expansions and the evolving energy needs of the airport.
- Minimising electrical impact on the airport’s internal grid by reducing harmonics and preventing overloads that may affect other essential systems.
- Implement an online double-conversion Uninterruptible Power System, offering high operational efficiency and full protection against outages, micro-outages and grid fluctuations.
- Select equipment with a compact and modular design, allowing easy integration in technical rooms with limited space and enabling future expansions through parallel connection.
- Use solutions with a low Total Harmonic Distortion (THDi) to preserve electrical network quality and optimise the performance of the installed gensets.
- Choose a platform capable of monitoring and optimising battery charging according to various environmental and consumption parameters, extending battery life and ensuring critical energy autonomy.
Charles de Gaulle Airport has chosen Salicru’s SLC CUBE3+ Uninterruptible Power Supply Systems to protect its energy infrastructure in the most sensitive areas of the airport environment. Thanks to their online double-conversion technology, these units ensure a continuous, clean and reliable power supply, essential to guarantee the uninterrupted operation of radars, transmitters and air communication systems.
In addition to their technological reliability, the SLC CUBE3+ units stand out for an energy efficiency of 95% in online mode and for featuring a compact design that maximises the available space. Their low harmonic distortion (THDi close to zero) prevents network contamination and allows auxiliary systems to be dimensioned more efficiently.
- The deployment of Salicru’s SLC CUBE3+ has strengthened the energy security of one of Europe’s most important transport hubs, providing full protection against electrical failures in critical systems.
- The technology has enabled a flexible solution, as the installed system also allows the connection of up to four units in parallel, offering robustness and scalability.
- The system’s operational efficiency has optimised energy consumption, reducing costs and improving the overall sustainability of the electrical infrastructure.
- Intelligent battery management ensures advanced control based on environmental conditions, load requirements and the type of batteries used, enhancing performance and operational autonomy.
Salicru has supplied dozens of DC systems to the Neom project, including DC converters and rectifiers. The project’s aim is to create the city of the future: one which is designed to be a model of sustainability, innovation and progress for the rest of the world.
The data centre in Sant Cugat del Vallès (Barcelona) has a total power of 4 MW with capabilities to expand up to 8 MW. A total of six SLC ADAPT2 units are currently providing power backup for all the IT infrastructure and ancillary services at the site.
This project further strengthens Salicru’s position as a leader in energy solutions and reinforces its standing in the railway market. As part of a commitment to innovation and safety, Salicru has been selected to install devices in all interlockings not yet equipped with modular Uninterruptible Power Supply Systems (UPS).
