Salicru has been commissioned to supply various pieces of energy protection equipment to the Madrid-Seville high-speed railway line (AVE), the first railway infrastructure of its kind to be put into operation in Spain, which this year celebrates its 30th anniversary. The new project adds to our company's considerable experience in supplying other high-speed rail lines, both at home and abroad
More than 100 pieces of equipment will be provided, including Uninterruptible Power Supply systems (UPS), stabilisers, rectifiers and transformers. Some of the devices have already been installed, although most of them will be delivered during the course of this year.
The primary purpose of the equipment will be to protect the line's control, signalling and switching systems, which are set to be renewed to coincide with the investments planned for its 30th anniversary. During its three decades of operation between the two cities, the line has transported more than 84 million passengers along its 470.5-kilometre route.
All the equipment supplied by Salicru meets ADIF's technical requirements for the power and signalling systems that the railway administrator plans to install on its high-speed lines.
Our solutions...
The devices being supplied are from the SLC ADAPT2, EMI3, DC-POWER-S and IT series.
The SLC ADAPT2 UPS systems are modular solutions for superior electrical protection based on online double-conversion technology, with three-level DSP control technology to IGBTs. They ensure reliability, quality and continuity and offer enhanced protection for critical processes such as railway infrastructures.
The EMI3 series stabilisers are ideal for protecting sensitive equipment from constant voltage fluctuations in the power supply.
The DC-POWER-S rectifiers or power systems provide a high-level power supply to critical systems, ensuring flawless performance with no unexpected outages. In addition, their modular design allows them to be expanded according to needs, thus optimising the investment.
Lastly, the transformers from the IT series are used as electrical isolation for reducing mains disturbances or adjusting the level of voltage coming from the distribution mains.
Extensive railway expertise
In recent years, Salicru has been actively involved in a number of national and international high-speed infrastructures. In Spain, for example, the company has supplied UPS devices, voltage stabilisers and power systems to protect the electricity supply to various facilities on several stretches of railway line, including Madrid-Lleida-Barcelona, Barcelona-Figueres, Vandellós-Camp de Tarragona, La Sacra-Toledo, Córdoba-Málaga, Segovia-Valladolid and Madrid-Extremadura.
Internationally, Salicru has supplied similar equipment for high-speed lines in Turkey, Mecca (Saudi Arabia) and the Cairo-Alexandria rail corridor in Egypt.
