1965: The beginning
Jacint Salicru is founded as a manufacturer of voltage regulating transformers in Sant Celoni (Barcelona).
1973: The first UPS
Salicru enters the UPS market with the design of its first prototype
1977: The conquest of Europe
The company begins selling its products to the European market.
1984: New production plant
It opens a factory in Santa Maria de Palautordera (Barcelona) measuring over 2,000 square metres.
1987: Export pioneers in Spain
Salicru becomes the first Spanish company to export power electronics products.
1989: The first subsidiaries
Salicru gains two new subsidiaries in France and Portugal.
1990: Sales offices in Spain
The company expands its influence through 15 sales offices in Spain.
1992: Product diversification
Salicru increases its product range with ILUEST lighting stabilisers-stepdown light dimmers.
1997: ISO certification
After obtaining ISO 9001 certification, the company creates the brand “Salicru Electronics” and the first FAC series.
2002: International consolidation
Salicru manages its presence in 40 countries with the creation of 4 new subsidiaries, in China, the United Kingdom, Hungary and Mexico.
2006: Storage and distribution centre
The company builds a storage and distribution centre measuring over 3,000 square metres.
2008: ISO 14001 certification
Salicru obtains new recognition with ISO 14001 environmental management certification.
2011: New subsidiary in Morocco
The company sets up a subsidiary in Morocco – Salicru Maroc.
2015: Salicru’s 50th anniversary
The company celebrates its first 50 years of history.
2017: Controlvit
With the aim of improving energy efficiency, the new Controlvit range of variable frequency drives was launched onto the market, offering a product designed exclusively for solar-powered pumping.
2018: Creation of Salicru Peru
With the opening of this new office, the brand expanded its presence to more than 100 countries.
2019: Construction of a new warehouse
Covering an area of 2,500 square metres, this facility was designed to house the company’s logistics, storage, inventory and distribution operations.
2021: New subsidiary in the Middle East
Salicru is now present in more than 130 countries.
2022: Launch of the Equinox2 inverters and ISO 45001
The company obtained ISO certification for occupational health and safety, and launched a new range of on-grid and hybrid solar inverters onto the market.
2023: Opening of a new logistics centre
The new facility covers an area of 4,500 square metres and has space for more than 9,000 pallets of finished products. Its entry into operation also enables Salicru to optimise its logistics for raw materials at a company-wide level.
2024: Expansion in the Middle East and the APAC region
The opening of a subsidiary in Australia gives us coverage throughout the entire Indian and Pacific Rim. In addition, a warehouse is being set up in Dubai to improve deliveries in Africa, Asia and Oceania.
2025: 60th anniversary
The company celebrates its birthday with growth that qualifies it as an Intermediate-sized Enterprise (ETI) in terms of workforce and turnover.
