Questions about product

EQUINOX2 S/SX
On-grid single-phase solar inverters from 2 to 10 kW
Technology and design for a greener world
Why does the app have two sets of data?
Both of the Wi-Fi devices (12-hour and 24-hour) are connected.
Why does the inverter turn off when my consumption is low?
The EQX2 requires a minimum of 200 W across the entire unit range.
I have shared the template but the person I shared it with can’t view it.
In order to be able to view a template, the person must have registered with the app using the same e-mail address under which the template is shared.
Do I need to create a template for each person it is shared with?
No. The same template can be shared with various people.
Can I add more devices to the same template?
Yes, but the number of devices can’t exceed the number of inverters.
Why do I have two antennas? What is the difference between them?
The small antenna occupies less space but is less powerful. The large antenna occupies more space but is more powerful.
Why won’t it connect to the Wi-Fi?
It can be for 2 reasons. The Wi-Fi module is too far away and not receiving a signal or is trying to access a 5G network with the 2.4G connection. Check the manual for the correct steps to do this. If the signal does not reach where it belongs, you can try connecting the large antenna instead of the small one into the wifi module. If there is still not enough signal, it will be necessary to use a Wi-Fi repeater.
With the 12-hour antenna, the toroidal CT doesn’t give me any measurements and I don’t want Zero Injection.
You need to activate Zero Injection from the inverter and change the “Potencia” parameter from 0% to 100%.
Why doesn’t my unit have a 24-hour Wi-Fi module?
Check whether you have purchased the Wi-Fi module, as it isn’t included with the inverter. If you have an EQX2, it includes a 12-hour antenna that enables you to update the inverter’s firmware.
Why won’t my unit show measurements in the app?
Check whether you have purchased the Smart Meter module, as it isn’t included with the inverter.
Why isn’t the Link LED on?
For the EQX2, go to “Configuración General”, then “Dir. Modbus”, and change the value from 247 to 003.
Why aren’t I getting real measurements?
For the EQX2, there may be several reasons: Check to make sure the transformation ratio has been changed from 1000:1 to 2000:1. Check to make sure the toroidal CT is positioned correctly and that the clamp is properly attached to the corresponding phase(s).
Why isn’t my unit generating as much power as it should?
If it is a low-power EQX, instead of using one string, draw two more cables from the panel fuses and connect the unit using two strings.
I have the Smart Meter, so why can’t I view measurements?
In order to view 24-hour measurements in the app, you must have a Smart Meter and Wi-Fi 485. Without them, it is NOT possible to view measurements.
Can the cables of the toroidal CT be extended?
Yes. As long as the cable’s cross-section is the same as that of the transformer, it can be extended up to 50 metres.
How do I know which pins are 1/2/3 on the inverter?
When mounting an EQX2 unit, below the inverter on the cover of the COM2.2 and 2.1 you will find two plugs, each with three pins. Pin 1 is the one closest to the cover; Pin 2 is the one in the centre; and Pin 3 is the one closest to the wall where the inverter will be mounted. The 485+ corresponds to Pin 1, the 485- to Pin 2, and Pin 3 is free.
How do I regulate the Zero Injection function?
In “Configuración General” there is a parameter titled “Exportación”, which ranges from 000% to 100%. This is the margin within which the inverter’s Zero Injection function can be regulated. We recommend setting it between 002% and 005%, instead of 000%.
The Wi-Fi won’t connect and I don’t know why.
If the name of your home Wi-Fi contains a space or special character, it won’t be possible to connect it to a Salicru device.
Although the inverter is being supplied correctly, it won’t activate, the display shows the message “Esperando” and the green LED is flashing.
In order to activate the inverter, as well as receiving voltage from the panels it must also be connected to the mains in order to synchronise and ensure it isn’t operating in “island” mode. Check to make sure there is voltage at the terminals of the protectors that supply the inverter’s protection panel. If the interrupter units on the AC protection panel have been activated correctly, there may be other protective elements located upstream that also need to be activated.
Zero Injection is activated and the inverter isn’t generating power even though the system is charged.
The CT may be mounted the wrong way round. The arrow on the CT must be pointing from the system towards the mains (power supply).
The inverter is working correctly but the red LED is flashing.
The inverter is only indicating that it can’t detect the Wi-Fi antenna. The inverter itself is working correctly.
No data is shown on the EQX-sun app at night.
The inverter is supplied by the solar panels. Consequently, if there isn’t enough solar radiation to activate the inverter, it won’t be able to supply the Wi-Fi antenna and the data needed to update the app won’t be sent. In order to be able to monitor the system 24 hours a day, you need to install the optional devices 6B2OP000007 (485/Wi-Fi 24-hour EQX) and 6B2OP000008 (ESM1 EQX).
I don’t want to connect the inverter to the Wi-Fi network. Will that cause problems?
The inverter will work perfectly without being connected to the Internet. Moreover, the most relevant generation-related information will be shown on the display of the unit itself. The Wi-Fi antenna’s only function is to send system data to the user, in order to provide information and make the management and monitoring process more convenient.
