The world of cinema has arrived at Salicru. Several of its devices are being used to protect modern Full HD projection systems. This is the case of the Catalonia International Fantastic Film Festival, which has been held in Sitges (Barcelona) for the past 47 editions.
The SLC-CUBE3+ 20 kVA Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) system with 30-minute backup supplied by Salicru to the organisers of this prestigious event will be used to protect the Full HD sound and projection system in the central exhibition hall of the Hotel Melià Sitges (the festival’s main venue).
This, however, is not the company’s first foray into the film industry. A few months ago we supplied a total of 11 three-phase 15 kVA UPSs to protect the projection machines in the cinema screens of the Splau! shopping centre in Cornellà de Llobregat (Barcelona), considered the premier multiplex in Spain for its use of advanced technologies such as Full HD and biamplified Dolby Digital.
