The council of Motril has started a project of investments in energy material to reduce the electrical consumption of the public lighting installations.

Salicru participates in this event through the company Telvent, from Abengoa group, who has developed the telemanagement systems for the remote control of all lighting control panels, including the light flow dimmer stabilisers ILUEST of Salicru. In total, more than 80 units of these equipments have been supplied. 

In lighting installations with high pressure sodium vapour lamps, and an overvoltage of 10% (242 V) means an increment in the consumption of 29% in the lamp, due to this, the lifetime of the lamps shortens in 50%. Due to the above mentioned, the stabilisation of the power supply in the light points makes an important economic saving, both in the electrical energy consumption and in the expenses of replacement and maintenance; and not only in the lamps but also in the involved devices. According to the data of the council of Motril with the installation of the light flow dimmer stabilisers, they will have an energy saving of 1.350.612 kWh and an economic one of 108.920 €/year with a payback period of two years and four months.
