EQUINOX2 HSX
Single-phase hybrid solar inverters from 3 to 8 kW
Maximum energy availability
Steps to follow to set up an EQX2-HSX:
First of all, you have to have the Wi-Fi antenna placed under the inverter. To change the parameters, press the button for a few seconds until it flashes and go full circle to the options. Once you are in the desired option, wait a few seconds until Configuring - Configured is displayed Menus to be modified: In General Settings: - Wireless connection -> switch ESP-BLE to ESP-WIFI and let update - Security Settings -> UNE217002 and let update - Aj. Mod. Work -> General Mode and let update - Ident. -> EQX_BATT/Pylontech Battery and Let Refresh - CT-> 90:1 ratio and let update
Although my hybrid inverter is turned on, it isn’t generating anything and there is an alarm for the antenna LED.
Check to make sure voltage from the panels is reaching the inverter. Check the panels’ fuses and thermal-magnetic circuit breakers.
Why does generation fall to zero when I activate Zero Injection?
It can be for several reasons: - If the inverter is three-phase, check that the phases and neutral are properly connected and in the correct ports, L1 in 1, L2 in 2, L3 in 3 and N in 4. - Check the arrow of the toroidal points towards the counter. - If the inverter is three-phase and in one of the phases the consumption is 0, the generation will be 0. The inverter generates according to the phase with the least consumption.
What is the battery’s maximum charging and discharging power?
The battery’s maximum charging and discharging power is the maximum PAC of the inverter.
What is the maximum Backup Load power?
The maximum Backup Load power is 110% of the inverter’s nominal power.
What is the maximum generation power?
The maximum generation power is the PAC.
Is there prioritisation between Load and Backup Load?
No. Both loads are treated as one, although the Backup Load does have a limit, as detailed in FAQ 2.
What happens if the battery reaches the minimum SoC (maximum DoD)?
The general prioritisation for load supply is modified. The battery remains on standby, waiting for power from the solar panels in order to be able to charge, while the loads that are consuming are supplied by the mains. When power is available from the solar panels, it is used to charge the battery. This form of operation will continue until the SoC ≥ min. SoC + 5%. Once this condition has been exceeded, the general prioritisation for load supply will be restored.
What happens if the mains supply is lost?
The hybrid system supplies the Backup Load via the solar panels and charges the battery if there is any surplus. Otherwise, it discharges the battery in order to supply the Backup Load. Moreover, the generation power is higher (i.e. it is no longer the PAC referred to in FAQ 3).
Why is the hybrid system waiting for the mains instead of generating?
The hybrid system will only wait for the mains instead of generating when it is first installed. Once it has been installed and switched on for the first time, it is able to generate without needing to be connected to the mains, as the battery will always keep it switched on. This isn’t necessary in Off-Grid mode, as the mains is never available in this mode.
Why isn’t the hybrid system optimised and imports from the mains when it has battery power available?
One of the following solutions may help to resolve this problem: - Depending on the type of battery, it may need to be fully charged. - The Peak Load Shifting option has been activated, meaning that the battery won’t discharge until consumption power in excess of Pmax is reached (this parameter can be configured using the app). Disable this option and try again. - The battery type may not be configured correctly. You can configure this parameter using the inverter’s display and/or the app. - The DoD is too low. We recommend a DoD of between 80% and 90%. This parameter can be configured using the app.
What is the maximum charging and discharging power?
The maximum charging and discharging power depends on the battery itself and isn’t limited by the PAC of the inverter.
What is the maximum Backup Load power?
The maximum Backup Load power is 110% of the inverter’s nominal power.
What is the maximum generation power?
The maximum generation power is higher than the PAC and depends on the level of overload that the inverter is able to withstand. (It is the same as the maximum Backup Load power.)
What happens if the battery reaches the minimum SoC (maximum DoD)?
The battery remains on standby if there are no solar panels, and the Backup Load isn’t supplied. If there are solar panels, the battery is charged until the SoC ≥ min. SoC + 5%. The Backup Load is then supplied.
What is the battery’s maximum charging and discharging power?
The maximum charging power (UPS OFF) is the inverter’s maximum PAC. The maximum discharging power (UPS ON) depends on the battery itself and is higher than the PAC.
What is the maximum Backup Load power?
The maximum Backup Load power is 110% of the inverter’s nominal power.
What is the maximum generation power?
In UPS OFF mode, the maximum generation power is limited to the PAC. In UPS ON mode, the maximum generation power is higher than the PAC.
Is there prioritisation between Load and Backup Load?
There is no prioritisation in UPS OFF mode. In UPS ON mode, only the Backup Load is available.
What happens if the battery reaches the minimum SoC (maximum DoD)?
In UPS OFF mode, it continues to work as normal: the battery is charged from the solar panels + mains and the loads are supplied from the mains (provided there isn’t a surplus of solar power). In UPS ON mode, the battery remains on standby if there are no solar panels, and the Backup Load isn’t supplied. If there are solar panels, the battery is charged until the SoC ≥ min. SoC + 5%. The Backup Load is then supplied.
What is the battery’s maximum charging and discharging power?
The battery’s maximum charging and discharging power is the maximum PAC of the inverter.
What is the maximum Backup Load power?
The maximum Backup Load power is 110% of the inverter’s nominal power.
What is the maximum generation power?
The maximum generation power is the PAC.
What happens if the battery reaches the minimum SoC (maximum DoD)?
The battery remains in Standby mode and will only charge if the Charge mode is activated. The loads are supplied at the same time as the battery is charged from the mains.
Why is the hybrid system on standby even though the charging and discharging profiles have been configured?
The hybrid system’s time setting may be out of sync and the system believes that no profile has been activated within the specified time frame. We recommend that you set the charging and discharging profiles to cover the full 24 hours.
What happens if the mains supply is lost?
First of all, the Backup Load can still be used. Although the charging profiles will no longer supply the Backup Load using the surplus solar power, they will continue to charge the battery. However, the Standby profile will no longer work, as this mode acts like any batteryless inverter, i.e. it doesn’t generate when the mains supply is lost. The Discharge profile will continue to work and supply the Backup Load.
What is the correct procedure for turning off the SALICRU hybrid inverter with batteries?
1. Disconnect the AC and load switches. 2. Press and hold the battery button for 5 seconds. 3. Deactivate the circuit breaker on the battery. 4. Wait 30 seconds and deactivate the DC switch on the inverter. 5. Wait 5 minutes until the inverter is completely de-energized before disconnecting the AC and DC cables. Do not turn off the battery system while the Inverter is generating.
What is the procedure for changing the communication mode (Wi-Fi or Bluetooth)?
1. Press the button once to turn on the LED display. 2. Press and hold for 5 seconds until the "WorkMode Module" menu appears. 3. Press and hold for 3 seconds to access the menu and switch to "ESP-Wifi" for wifi communication or "ESP-BLE" for bluetooth communication.
Why is the LED on the button of the SALICRU battery still lit, even though I held down the button for five seconds?
The battery may reconnect if the inverter is switched on, and the LED may stay lit as a result. In order to turn the system off correctly, you must also switch off the thermal-magnetic circuit breaker.
Why is the LED on the button of the SALICRU battery still lit, even though the thermal-magnetic circuit breaker is switched off?
When the thermal-magnetic circuit breaker is switched off, the battery output to the inverter is disconnected. However, if the inverter remains on, the battery may reconnect and the LED will stay lit.
What happens if the battery discharges completely?
The battery enters a state in which it only charges at 0.8 KW until the minimum SoC is reached. The Backup Load can’t be supplied while the battery is in this state.
Why is the battery discharging at maximum power and injecting its energy into the mains, even though the export function is disabled?
The CT transformer may be the wrong way round. The correct direction is Load -> Grid.
Why won’t the operating mode change?
A network may not be available at this time, and a network must be available to change the mode of work. Why won't it connect to Wi-Fi? To connect to Wi-Fi, you need to have a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and a lowercase SSID.
Why is the battery not recognised / Why are the SoC LEDs on the hybrid system switched off?
The battery type may not be configured correctly in the hybrid system.
What is the correct procedure for turning on the SALICRU hybrid inverter with batteries?
1. Activate the DC switch. 2. Activate the battery's circuit breaker. 3. Press and hold the battery button for 5 seconds. 4. Activate the AC switch.
