Voltage Stabilisers

A stable power supply is an absolute necessity. Life-saving medical equipment, computer systems handling crucial data, transport infrastructures –the demand for consistent and reliable power is at an all-time high and voltage stabilisers can ensure that no failures or breakdowns occur due to issues with the power supply.

What is a voltage stabiliser?

Today’s electronic components increasingly deliver better performance in a smaller size. However, as a result, they are also more sensitive to electrical loads, which is why it’s advisable to ensure the power supply is disturbance-free. A voltage stabiliser keeps the voltage supplied to connected devices constant, protecting them from unexpected fluctuations in the mains supply, which is essential for sensitive equipment. They are designed to safeguard critical loads in unstable networks, particularly those with complex characteristics, such as high peak starting currents, marked reactivity or high power ratings. These devices detect voltage variations and automatically make adjustments to deliver a stable output.

In environments where even a minor fluctuation can cause considerable damage or data loss, the voltage stabiliser corrects the voltage as soon as any deviation from the desired level is detected.

Electrical disturbances are abnormal events in the electrical system that affect the quality of the power we receive. They can be caused by various factors and result in voltage fluctuations that can potentially damage any equipment directly connected to the supply. Voltage stabilisers handle a variety of electrical disturbances, including surges, dips and spikes, and reduce the voltage to a safe level in the event of an overvoltage scenario. They can also compensate for voltage dips by adjusting the output to keep it constant.

This ability to respond prevents equipment from sustaining physical damage, maintains operational efficiency and prolongs the useful life of connected devices.

A top-quality power supply would be one that ensures permanent availability and a pure waveform, but many factors, ranging from meteorological to human, can prevent this from happening.
Life without interruptions

One of the biggest problems we face today is our increasing dependence on the correct functioning of the IT and electronic systems that play an essential role in our everyday lives, which is why it’s crucial they receive an adequate power supply. What would happen if, in the middle of an operation, the theatre was plunged into darkness? What if transport infrastructures suddenly had no access to electrical power? What if communications went down?

Voltage stabilisers prevent essential day-to-day equipment from being affected by these events and look after the well-being of society and industry by cleaning the energy to avoid system failures caused by voltage fluctuations and improving the quality of the power supply.

Servomotor stabilisers
Servomotor stabilisers

This type of stabiliser uses a mechanically controlled motor to drive a continuously variable transformer in response to changes in input voltage. The technique allows for highly precise voltage adjustments.

These stabilisers use advanced electronic circuitry to correct the voltage with a faster response time. Their efficiency and reliability make them ideal for critical applications where response time is paramount.
