Salicru has increased its commitment to research, development and technological innovation as an industrial growth strategy. Through various actions, it has strengthened its R&D and innovation work with the aim of promoting a continuous process of product improvement, enhancing new technological capabilities and placing itself at the forefront of its sector.
The first of these actions has been the expansion of its R&D and Innovation Department, which involved doubling its size from 357 m2 to 662 m2, equipping it with a thermal stress room and five automatic functional test cubicles, and increasing its workforce with engineers who are specialists in power testing, electric vehicles, next-generation human interfaces and full product digitisation projects, among others.
The company has also opened an Internet of Things (IoT) Section to respond to the new competitiveness needs of Industry 4.0. Especially to optimise the connectivity of Salicru products and offer cloud solutions tailored to the protection and security needs of its customers. This section is currently manned by two engineers and has the external support of eight other engineers.
These actions also coincided with Salicru receiving second place at the Industry 4.0 Forum Awards, organised by the Industry 4.0 Committee of the Association of Engineers of Catalonia, for its Odyssey-La Aventura Digital project. This award recognises Catalonian companies carrying out innovative initiatives in this field.
