Salicru in El Salvador's biggest hospitals

The latest project, at the Nejapa Hospital (San Salvador), involved installing a 120 kVA SLC CUBE3+ UPS to ensure an uninterrupted power supply for an MRI scanner in the X-ray department.

Wednesday, 1 july 2026

The solution installed at the Nejapa Hospital responds to a specific need for power protection in a highly sensitive healthcare environment. The X-ray department is now equipped with a 120 kVA SLC CUBE3+ UPS, whose purpose is to protect a critical MRI scanner that requires stability, operational continuity and a constant power supply to ensure the service remains operational.

The work included connecting a transformer to adapt the available voltage to the installation, reducing the incoming voltage from 480 VAC to 400 VAC to power the UPS, and then raising the output to 480 VAC again to ensure compatibility with the hospital’s electrical infrastructure and the technical requirements of the protected medical equipment.

The SLC CUBE3+ is a DSP-controlled double-conversion online UPS, designed for use in settings where the continuity of the power supply is essential for day-to-day clinical practice. Its power range extends up to 200 kVA, and it offers high efficiency in online mode, very low harmonic distortion at both input and output, flexible voltages and the option of a redundant parallel configuration – features that are particularly well-suited to hospital facilities.

The work was carried out by Jahve Rafa, official distributor for Salicru in El Salvador, which provides technical expertise and local knowledge to tailor the solution to the specific requirements of every project.

Salicru’s presence in the Salvadoran healthcare sector is further underpinned by other devices already in operation at the Nejapa Hospital, which also uses SLC TWIN PRO2 units, and by installations in national hospitals like the Rosales Hospital, which has three SLC ADAPT2 3X480 units: one rated at 120 kVA and two at 200 kVA. This modular series allows the system to be scaled up by adding modules and supports redundant architectures, a key advantage for critical services.
