Salicru has supplied 32 Iluest+ light flow reducer-stabilisers with a range of powers to optimise power consumption on the premises of the CASA-EADS factory in Getafe (Madrid). This is the most important European industrial corporation in the aviation and space business segment, and the current owner of Airbus.
This project is a sign that the Iluest light flow reducer-stabilisers have not only become the leading unit for municipal public lighting, but that they are also a useful tool in energy consumption that private companies are already considering for economic and environmental reasons.
From the point of view of the useful life of the lamps in the CASA-EADS factory complex, this is undermined by frequent blackouts, without forgetting that the use of the building in question has to adapt to the change that is caused when the lighting goes off because they have reached the fixed optimal luminosity threshold. Light flow reducer-stabilisers have been considered to avoid these problems, and in a first phase will be installed in the factory warehouses as this is where consumption is highest.
This equipment enables the lighting levels to be adapted to needs at all times, by regulating parameters such as intensity and turning on and off. In other words, they enable the controlled, soft reduction of the power supply and achieve uniform flows and considerable energy savings.
According to technical estimates, thanks to the implementation of these units in the factory, savings of 30% will be achieved with respect to present lighting consumption in the warehouses, while maintaining the comfort. This will give savings of approximately 41,000 Euros a year, and the investment will be repaid in approximately two and a half years. Furthermore, the emission of 500 tonnes of CO2 a year into the atmosphere will be avoided.
