Salicru has supplied 21 Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) of the SLC CUBE3+ series to the Mutua Madrileña Group. The units, with 15 and 20 kVA power, will serve to protect the security systems, such as surveillance cameras, or entry and exit control barriers of the Group's car parks spread throughout the country, specifically in the provinces of Alicante, Barcelona, Ciudad Real, Granada, Huelva, Lérida, Madrid, Navarra, Asturias, Las Palmas, Pontevedra, Salamanca and Tarragona.
The Mutua Madrileña Group is one of the largest Spanish insurance companies. Its portfolio consists of more than 8 million policyholders throughout the different sectors in which it operates: cars, motorcycles, life, health, legal defence, home, death, assistance, benefits, accidents, investment funds and pension plans. It currently occupies third position in the national insurance ranking, and is second in non-life insurance and first in health insurance.
Devised for maximum efficiency and energy savings, the SLC CUBE3+ series is designed for professional environments such as the one cited, as it provides a reliable and high quality supply, while at the same time representing significant energy and cost savings, both in facilities and in operating costs. With a power range from 7.5 to 200 kVA, their benefits address the ever-increasing need for greater protection and security for a large range of facilities, such as data centres, hosting, housing, IT networks, server farms, voice and data networks, critical industrial processes, financial and infrastructural services.
With On-line double conversion technology (VFI), they include DSP (Digital Signal Processor) control for greater calculation capacity in the performance of the system. Its reduced weight and its very compact size largely make it easy to position and save space. For a full optimum solution, the SLC CUBE3+ provides maximum adaptability (even with the standard model), the possibility of parallel redundant expansion for up to four units and extensive communication options.
Their main advantage is that they offer total flexibility in the input and output voltages: The unity input power factor (PF=1) with a really low distortion rate (THDi less than even 1%), which helps reduce operating and facility costs; and (2) high output power factor (PF=0.9) providing optimum electrical protection for current computer systems and low harmonic output distortion (THDv lower than 0.5%), enabling them to protect any type of load (inductive, resistive, capacitive or mixed). The efficiency achieved reaches 95% in On-line mode and 98% in Smart Eco-mode, which produces significant energy consumption savings and reduces the need for air conditioning. In addition, in complying with the eco-efficiency commitments adopted by the company, recyclable materials account for more than 80% of their composition.
