This project further strengthens Salicru’s position as a leader in energy solutions and reinforces its standing in the railway market. As part of a commitment to innovation and safety, Salicru has been selected to install devices in all interlockings not yet equipped with modular Uninterruptible Power Supply Systems (UPS).
This strategic tender with Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) includes a requirement for specific advanced technical specifications to guarantee standardisation and efficiency throughout the network. Each interlocking will have a single power module, adaptable to three-phase, single-phase or three-phase 220v systems to provide the flexibility that will allow FGC technicians to interchange modules or devices arbitrarily and without additional concerns. Salicru’s equipment is designed to auto-detect and configure itself automatically according to the input voltage and, therefore, meets this requirement.
In addition, for reasons of space and efficiency, the contract specifies that devices of up to 20 kVA in the interlockings can only have one front-access power cabinet that holds both the batteries and the electronics. Each device must have 60 minutes of autonomy at the power rating of the interlocking and a battery configuration with at least two protected branches, allowing the batteries to be changed in one branch without affecting the operation of the other.
A crucial feature of SLC ADAPT2 devices is their compliance with the UNE-EN 50124-4 and UNE-EN 50121-5 standards for electromagnetic compatibility in the railway sector, guaranteeing the protection of sensitive, critical equipment. In terms of connectivity and supervision, the devices will be compatible with the current UNMS II monitoring system and come with the Nimbus Cloud system, which will allow technicians to receive alerts via a mobile app, facilitating efficient, proactive maintenance.
Salicru is also committed to a maximum response time of 2 hours in the event of a breakdown or emergency, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. This level of technical support reflects the company’s commitment to quality and reliability, ensuring continuous and secure operation for the network.
Salicru products are already present in the Catalan railway company’s energy infrastructures, with devices in 13 power substations across its network. These devices are DC POWER-L voltage rectifiers, which are used with stationary battery charging systems and use microprocessor-controlled thyristor technology to offer exceptionally reliable and high-quality protection for critical DC loads.
