Following a six-month period in which we have attended a number of landmark events in the power electronics and renewable energy sectors, the second half of the year is also set to be particularly active. Many trade shows and major events will be taking place across Spain, offering us the opportunity to present our latest technological developments.
Salicru has supplied new Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Systems and battery racks to the high-speed rail corridor between Medina and Mecca, two holy cities visited by millions of Muslim pilgrims every year. This important infrastructure, which crosses coastal and desert areas of Saudi Arabia, already has various Salicru equipment in all its BOCCs (Backup Operation Control Centres).
Two important tunnels in Catalonia, the Vallvidrera and Cadí Tunnels, have recently incorporated new Salicru equipment to guarantee the energy protection of their infrastructure. The Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems that have been supplied will provide high-level electrical protection to ensure the operational quality of this equipment on the Catalan road network.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of Salicru's collaboration with MCE UPS, the company that distributes our equipment in the Belgian market, primarily in industrial sectors. In addition to distributing the brand's products in that country, it also offers maintenance and technical service contracts to its customers, as well as power over Ethernet (PoE).
Without doubt, renewable energies will play an increasingly more important role in the energy mix, as part of the drive to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and curb global warming. Governments, companies and consumers alike are aware of the need to consume less energy and to generate it in a sustainable and economical way, factors that have established self-consumption as a growing trend.
