Salicru’s SLC CUBE3 and SLC X-TRA guarantee security and coverage for the Africa Cup of Nations 2012 From 21 January to 12 February, the Africa Cup of Nations 2012, the football competition of the national teams of the African continent, is being held at two official sites, Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. Salicru took part in the overall electrical engineering and telecommunications project of the competition by installing four Uninterruptible Power Supply systems (UPS) in two of the main stadiums where the competition is being held, Bata and Malabo (both in Equatorial Guinea).
Two 80 kVA, SLC CUBE3 units with 120 minutes of autonomy were installed to guarantee a continuous, safe and reliable power supply to each of the stadiums to cover the entrance stiles, loudspeakers, lighting, etc. and another two SLC X-TRA 125 kVA for each of the international press centres located in the two stadiums to enable the games to be broadcast and reported.
Conceived for maximum efficiency and energy savings, with a range of powers from 7.5 to 200 kVA, the SLC CUBE3 series is capable of meeting the ever-growing protection and security needs of a large variety of installations. Salicru’s new three-phase, online, double conversion UPS are very compact to make their installation easier. Furthermore, the use of PWM-transformerless technology gives greater reliability and security and easily adapts to the most diverse and complicated loads.
The SLC X-TRA series, which is one of the latest to be brought into the company's portfolio, is one of the most reliable high-performance three-phase UPS on the market and gives protection and quality power for a wide range of applications. With powers ranging from 100 to 800 kVA, its very compact format makes it easy to locate and install, and increases system reliability by connecting several units in redundancy or enabling expansion in parallel in line with the needs of each project. Another of the advantages of these units is their Batt-Watch system to extend the battery life, thus reducing maintenance costs and enabling recharging in the shortest possible time, all in the interest of greater safety.
